Iran may increase gasoline production - former MP

TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 6

Trend:

Iran's current need for gasoline production has increased, and the country can increase the production to meet its needs, said former member of Iran's parliament Hedayatollah Khademi, Trend reports via ILNA.

He added that Iran could also increase production of other oil goods to diversify its exports.

Khademi said diversification of products would benefit Iran.

"While we have reached stability in gasoline production, it can be increased, if more refineries are established," he said.

He noted that Iran's oil export is limited to certain countries, 'but any country or even small companies can buy gasoline or other oil products', and this can help bring back revenues with less obstacles.

In Iran gasoline is produced in various refineries, including at those belonging to the private sector.
