SOCAR supplies over 4,500 tons of Lithuanian gasoline to Ukraine

Ukrainian subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR supplied 4,800 tons of Lithuanian gasoline to the country in August 2021, Trend reports with reference to Ukrainian media.

The main suppliers of Lithuanian gasoline were WOG and OKKO with 12,500 tons and 8,000 tons, respectively. Amic Ukraine delivered 3,000 tons, Alliance Oil Ukraine supplied 2,100 tons, followed by Avantage with 400 tons.

Imports of motor gasoline to Ukraine in August 2021 amounted to 137,600 tons, 26 percent more than in August 2020 with 109,200 tons.

The increase in August 2021 was driven by supplies from Belarus. Belarusian refineries sent 101,000 tons of gasoline to Ukraine.

Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008.
The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.
The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.

SOCAR's investments in Ukraine as of 2020 stood at $300 million.
