The aim of the roadmap is to test the hydrology forecasting feasibility in Georgia using the Rioni River as a test case.

Through this project, GSE will be able to improve energy balance management and optimal use of available water resources.

“The purpose of this study is to provide Georgia with funds to more accurately develop forecasts of the future availability of hydropower plants in Georgia, which can serve as a basis for better programming of production and investment in this strategic sector,” said Diego Kolas, French Ambassador to Georgia.

The hydropower management roadmap will identify a list of priority actions to more accurately assess the expected river flow and river flow.

The French Embassy in Georgia states that an objective assessment of Georgia's hydrological potential will contribute to the integrated use of water resources and will have a positive impact on the country's economic development.

"Forecasting hydrology will allow hydroelectric power plants in Georgia to carry out safe management of reservoirs, effectively use cascading, determine the optimization of water resources and energy, energy surplus and deficit," the embassy said.
