By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The Gachsaran Petrochemical Complex in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (south-western Iran) will be launched in the 6th month of the next Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022), said Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji during his visit to the province, Trend reports citing the ministry.

According to Owji, there is currently 85 percent physical progress in the construction of this complex.

The minister added that the complex will produce 1-1.2 million tons of ethylene per year.

“As a result of joint steps taken by the Iranian Oil Ministry and the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, necessary funds on this complex have been allocated,” he said.

Along with the complex, the leadership of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province has proposed to build a new petrochemical plant near the complex. Certain research operations on the construction of this plant will be carried out, Owji noted.
