​Iran allocates more funds for oil and gas projects in Ilam Province

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.19

The Iranian government has assigned $4.45 billion to gas and oil projects alongside other civil and urban projects in Ilam Province, Deputy Governor of Ilam Province told Trend in an interview.

A total of 112 projects were approved to launch in the province with 5,000 billion rials (about $119 million) credit alongside $4.45 billion during the Iranian President's visit to Ilam Province, Ahmad Karami noted.

The new administration is to fund 17 projects in gas and sectors in Ilam Province while other plans include 18 projects in the water sector, 30 projects in health, 5 projects in road and housing, 30 projects in education, 6 projects in the social sector, 2 projects in civil and urban, 2 projects in micro employment, communication projects that are connecting 30 villages to national network and construction of 8,000 housing units from 2021 to 2024.

The 3 trillion rials (about $71 million) investment in the construction of the Kabir Kouh Tunnel is another major project in Ilam Province and is one of the tunnels that connect the north-west to the south-west of Iran.

About 400 billion rials (about $9.5 million) have been assigned to the installment of the first part of the tunnel from Ilam to Salehabad.
