Kyrgyzstan reveals electricity volume received from Turkmenistan

Kyrgyzstan has already received from Turkmenistan over 60 percent of the agreed volume of electricity, the head of the board of the Kyrgyz national energy holding Talaybek Baygaziev said, Trend reports citing Kyrgyz media.

According to the information, the Kyrgyz side has already accepted 306.8 million kWh of Turkmen electricity. The total volume, according to the terms of the contract, reaches 501.9 million kWh.

It is noted that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are also suppliers of electricity to Kyrgyzstan. Baygaziev said that 75.7 million kWh of the planned 120 million kWh were received from the Kazakh side as part of the exchange of products, while Uzbekistan has already supplied 72.6 million kWh out of the planned 100 million kWh.

The signing of the Turkmen-Kyrgyz agreement on energy supplies to Kyrgyzstan in the amount of 501.9 million kWh took place in August 2021. The signatories were made by the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Charymurad Purchekov and the head of the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzayev.
