The volume of gas consumption in the household sector in Iran amounted to about 536 million cubic meters on November 21, 2021, Spokesman for National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Asghari said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
According to him, gas consumption in the household sector is expected to rise to 560 million cubic meters daily in the coming days.
The spokesman added that Iran currently produces 800 million cubic meters of gas per day.
Asghari emphasized that if subscribers do not comply with gas consumption rules, certain fines will be imposed on those subscribers.
“At the same time, gas is provided free of charge to the subscribers with a monthly gas consumption of up to 200 cubic meters,” he noted.
As reported, over the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Iran extracted an average of 879 million cubic meters of gas daily, consumed 701 million cubic meters and exported 46.3 million cubic meters.
As of December 21, 2020, gas in Iran is provided free of charge 200, 150 and 100 cubic meters, depending on a specific zone across country, during winter months.
Also, those subscribers that consume less than 45 cubic meters of gas, are provided with free-of-charge gas from April 4 to November 6.
