LNG exports by GECF countries grow significantly

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov.23

Natural gas exports by members of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) rose from 659.49 billion cubic meters in 2019 to 679.29 billion cubic meters in 2020, showing a 3 percent increase year-on-year, Trend reports with reference to GECF.

Pipeline exports stood at 399.60 billion cubic meters in 2020, or 0.24 percent more than 398.64 billion cubic meters in 2019. Pipeline exports accounted for 58.8 percent of total natural gas deliveries by GECF in 2020.

GECF countries exported 279.69 billion cubic meters of liquified natural gas (LNG) in 2020, as compared to 260.85 billion cubic meters in 2019, showing a 7.2 percent increase year-on-year. LNG exports accounted for 41.17 percent of total natural gas supplies by GECF.

Total proven gas reserves of members of GECF stood at 142.823 trillion cubic meters in 2020, which is 1.64 percent more than 140.519 trillion cubic meters in 2019.

Natural gas gross production by GECF stood at 2.043 trillion cubic meters in 2020, increasing by 2.71 percent as compared to 1.989 trillion cubic meters in 2019. Natural gas marketed production grew from 1.590 trillion cubic meters to 1.643 trillion cubic meters, showing a 3.33 percent increase year-on-year.
