Iran's electricity generation capacity will increase by 6,000 megawatt-hours by the summer of next year, which is a first in the country's electricity sector, said Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Trend reports citing the ministry.
The minister noted that 4,500 megawatt-hours of electricity will be obtained with the development of thermal power plants, 500 megawatt-hours with renewable energy power plants, and 1,000 megawatt-hours with existing power plants.
“Over the past three months, 4 power plants in Iran added 800 megawatt-hours to the generation capacity,” Mehrabian added.
