TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.6
Trend:
The Iranian government is working to increase renewable power production across country, head of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization Mahmoud Kamani told Trend.
He said the private sector investors have made requests to receive allocated land for building renewable power plants.
The applicants receive a permit for connecting to the power network and obtain land for renewable power plants, he indicated.
The current administration has a four-year plan to increase the capacity of renewable power plants by 10,000 megawatts, amid the rising number of applicants.
Iran has a good potential for solar and wind energy, in addition to biomass and hydroelectricity, he explained.
The government will return the initial investment and the interest to investors in four years, Kamani noted.
