Iran’s NIGC implements plan on gas saving

Iran has begun to save about 500 million cubic meters of gas annually by repairing boiler houses and making some changes in there, over the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Majid Chegeni said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

The deputy minister noted that there were some repairs and changes carried out in 11,359 boiler houses in Iran within the current Iranian year. A total of 154 billion rials (about $3.66 million) has been spent in this regard.

Chegeni also added that gas consumption in the country is reduced by about 5-10 percent with the repair of each boiler house.

Iran currently produces 800 million cubic meters per day. Meanwhile, daily gas consumption in Iran is about 750 million cubic meters, of which, more than 500 million cubic meters are consumed in the household sector.
