Gas extraction of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) has increased by 1 million cubic meters daily with the launch of a development well in Shanol gas field in the Fars Province (southern Iran), an official of the ICOFC Peyman Imani said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
The official noted that the ICOFC has increased extraction from well No. 18 in the Shanol field to realize its production programs, and the gas extracted from the well has been transporting to the Parsian Gas Refining Company.
Imani said that within 6 months, the company's specialists drilled the well, installed related equipment and gas pipelines on the well.
“In addition, preliminary work has been carried out to drill the development well No. 19 in the Shanol gas field,” he added.
According to the official, meanwhile in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2021), the company launched the development well No. 17 in the Dalan field, and as a result, the company's gas extraction increased by 1 million cubic meters per day.
The Shanol and Dalan gas fields in the Fars Province are operated by the South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC), which operates under the auspices of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company.
These fields currently produce a total of about 35 million cubic meters of gas per day.
The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company has 84 oil and gas fields in 11 provinces of Iran. So far, 13 gas fields and 13 oil fields have been developed.
The ICOFC extracted a total of 63 million barrels of crude oil and gas condensate and 70 billion cubic meters of gas over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021).
