BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 15

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) and the Bank Mellat Iran signed a contract for the construction of a pipeline on the transportation of oil products from south-east to the north-east of Iran on Jan. 15, 2022, Trend reports citing NIORDC’s website.

The contract was signed between the CEOs of the NIORDC Jalil Salari and the CEO of Bank Mellat Iran Reza Dovlatabadi.

According to the contract, the pipeline will allow transport of oil products from Rafsanjan city in the Kerman Province (south-eastern Iran) to Mashhad city in the Razavi Khorasan (northeastern Iran).

The construction of the pipeline will allow facilitating the transportation of oil products to the north-eastern provinces of Iran (South Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, and North Khorasan), reducing the transportation of oil products by tanker and related costs and facilitating the export of oil products to neighboring countries.

And thus the North and Northeast and South and Northeast oil corridor will be created.

The transportation capacity of the pipeline will be 150,000 barrels per day, while the length of the pipeline will be 948 kilometers.

In addition, 2 pumping stations and 3 terminals are expected to be built in the pipeline.

According to preliminary estimates, a total of 372 million euros will be spent on the construction of the pipeline and related work.

Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji and Iranian Finance Minister Ehsan Khandozi attended the signing ceremony.
