The Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant in the Qazvin Province (northern Iran) generated 981 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), Deputy Head of Shahid Rajaee TPP, Javad Dusti said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
According to Dusti, of the mentioned volume, 344 million kilowatt-hours were generated by the combined cycle units of the thermal power plant, while 637 million kilowatt-hours by steam units,” he said.
The official added that the operation of 2 units of the power plant has been suspended due to overhaul. These units will soon be put back on track and start generating electricity.
The Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant has 13 units. Four of them are steam units each generation capacity of 250 megawatt-hours, and the rest are combined cycle units. In total, the TPP can generate 2,040 megawatts of electricity.
The Shahid Rajaee TPP plays a key role in supplying electricity to Iran, by generating 12 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
