Iran expects gasoline consumption to peak

TEHRAN, Iran, Feb. 19

Iran`s daily gasoline consumption rose to an average of 86.5 million liters, Head of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) , Keramat Weis Karami said, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

Iran`s gasoline consumption rose by 15.2 percent, from 75 million liters per day in last year to 85 million liters in the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2021), Karami said.

He predicted that the gasoline consumption hits a record high during the Nowruz holiday (starts on March 21) in Iran.

According to the CEO of NIOPDC, the gasoline consumption during the Nowruz holiday will be more than 100 million liters per day.

Further speaking, Karami said Iran provides the needed aviation fuel, through the domestic production.

Iran uses 4 million liters of aviation gasoline per day, which is expected to rise by 5 million liters per day during the Nowruz holiday.
