Iran resumes diesel imports

TEHRAN, Iran, Feb. 28

Iran has resumed diesel imports, due to the increase in consumption, Trend reports citing Mehr news Agency.

Iran has been importing diesel through its northern borders and via the Caspian Sea, a source familiar with the matter said.

According to forecasts, the consumption of gasoline in the country will soon exceed the total production of refineries.

In the past few days, Head of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Keramat Veis-Karami had said that the average daily distribution of gasoline in Iran reached 86.3 million liters per day, which shows a 15.2-percent growth in consumption compared to the same period last year.
