Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is ready for any international cooperation and there are no restrictions in this regard, Iranian Deputy Oil Minister and the CEO of the Company (NPC) Morteza Shah-Mirzaei said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.
He made the remark during a meeting with Advisor to Kyrgyzstan President and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Centerra Gold Incorporation Tengiz Bolturuk.
According to Shah-Mirzaei, Iran's petrochemical industry has a wide range of products, and can meet the needs of other countries, including those of Central Asia.
The deputy minister added that given that Kyrgyzstan is interested in purchasing petrochemical products from Iran, the necessary consultations are underway to sign a trade agreement in the near future.
Also, the CEO offered to prepare a list of petrochemical products that Kyrgyzstan requires and provide Iran with the list.
During the meeting, Tengiz Bolturuk said that the goal of his visit to Iran was to get acquainted with petrochemical facilities and sign a joint cooperation agreement on the purchase of petrochemicals from Iran.
According to Bolturuk, Kyrgyzstan can sustainably meet its industrial needs via Iranian market.
“In addition to increasing imports from Iran and developing cooperation in the petrochemical industry, Kyrgyzstan intends to facilitate cargo transportation by establishing an office in Bandar Abbas County of Hormozgan Province (southern Iran),” he noted.
Along with these, Kyrgyzstan is conducting research on the purchase of crude oil from Iran. So, if possible, Kyrgyzstan could meet the needs of its refinery (1 million tons of crude/year) thanks to Iran, he said.
