BAKU, Azerbaijan, Mar. 21. Georgia’s imports of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons from Azerbaijan from January through February 2022 amounted to $99.6 million, which is an increase of 71.1 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($58.2 million), Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The volume of the imported petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons from Azerbaijan also increased by 58.6 percent, compared to 359.7 million cubic meters over the reporting period of 2022, to 570.7 million cubic meters.

Thus, Azerbaijan ranked first among main petroleum gases exporters to Georgia from January through February 2022, followed by Russia ($19.6 million), and the US ($4 million).

Meanwhile, Georgia’s total imports of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons in the reporting period of 2022 totaled $119.3 million, which is an increase of 32.7 percent, compared to $89.9 million from January through February 2021.

Georgia’s imports in the reporting period of 2022 totaled $1.7 billion – an increase of 47 percent, compared to $1.1 billion from January through February 2021.
