Azerbaijan increases electricity export

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Azerbaijan exported 508.4 million kilowatt per hour of electricity from January through March 2022, which is 1.4 million kilowatt per hour more than in the same period in 2021, Trend reports with reference to the of Azerbaijan Energy Ministry.

According to the ministry, Azerbaijan's import of electricity in 1Q2022 amounted to 30.7 million kilowatt per hour, which is 1.5 million kilowatt-hours less than the same period in 2021.

Electricity generation in Azerbaijan exceeded 7.1 billion kilowatt per hour from January through March 2022, which is 3.9 percent or 269.2 million kilowatt per hour more than the same period in 2021, ministry also noted.

The electricity generation by the power plants of Azerbaijan’s Azerenergy OJSC amounted to about 6.5 billion kilowatt per hours from January through March 2022, including thermal power plants - 6.2 billion kilowatt per hour, hydroelectric power stations - 239.6 million kilowatt per hour.
