BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 9. The electricity generation of the Shazand Thermal Power Plant in the Markazi Province (central Iran) amounted to 8.1 billion kilowatt-hours, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Head of the Shazand TPP, Shahram Iranpak said, Trend reports citing Iranian Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s website.
Iranpak said that this is an increase of 8 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2022 through March 20, 2021).
“Meanwhile, in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), the thermal power plant generated a total of 471 million kilowatt-hours of electricity,” he added.
The official noted that along with electricity generation in the 12th month of last Iranian year, there was repair work in the 1st and 4th units of the thermal power plant.
The Shazand Thermal Power Plant was established in 2000 in the Shazand County of Iran's Markazi Province. The power plant has 4 units with a generation capacity of 325 megawatt-hours of electricity each and can generate a total of 1,300 megawatt-hours of electricity.
