BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Two petrochemical facilities will be built in the Lamerd Special Economic Zone in the Fars Province (southern Iran), the head of the zone Ehsan Ansari said, Trend reports citing the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
The official noted that a total of $239 million will be spent on the construction of the mentioned petrochemical facilities.
Ansari added that the petrochemical facilities will be built in cooperation with the Committee for the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order (EIKO).
“With the establishment of petrochemical facilities, production and employment in the zone will increase,” he said.
The Lamerd Special Economic Zone operates under the IMIDRO.
