TEHRAN, Iran, May 11. Iran's CNG industry has
been on a roll with a $4-billion profit from the sale of 8 billion
cubic meters of gas last Iranian year (started March 21, 2021),
said a member of CNG Association of Iran Mohsen Johari, Trend reports citing
IRNA.
"The significant profitability in the CNG industry is happening
while half of the country's CNG stations are empty," he said.
He pointed out that the government should increase the budget to
help the CNG stations pay for extra costs and workers' salaries and
avoid the possible layoff of 20,000 workers.
According to the official, Iran's CNG profits could increase to $8
billion per year by improving the existing infrastructure.
