Saipem updates on operations for Shah Deniz 2, ACE projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Work relating to the Shah Deniz 2 (Call-off 007) contract are under way, involving the transportation and installation of production systems and subsea facilities, the laying of optical fiber cables and production umbilicals, start-up, supply of the crew and operational management of the new vessel, with installation activities envisaged until the first half of 2023, Italian Saipem company told Trend.

As for the new platform at Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG), the company said engineering and procurement activities are under way for the ACE (Call-off 002) project, involving the engineering, laying and pipeline installation activities, planned between late 2021 and the first quarter of 2022.

“The engineering, procurement and installation activities for the jacket pine pile have been completed for the ACE (Call-off 006),” said Saipem.

Saipem, in consortium with Boshelf LLC and STAR GULF FZCO, was awarded three new contracts by BP for the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil and gas (ACG) field offshore Azerbaijan.

Specifically, two contracts are for pipeline design, pipelay and related activities, while the third is for transportation & installation of four jacket pin piles, subsea structure and spools.

Saipem’s share of the overall value of the three contracts is approximately 145 million USD.
