BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. The volume of electricity generation using renewable energy sources increased in Azerbaijan from January through July 2022, Trend reports via the Energy Ministry.
According to the ministry, this figure amounted to 16.278 billion kWh, up by 420 million kWh (2.6 percent) on annual basis.
In the first seven months of this year, thermal power plants (TPPs) generated 14.89 billion kWh, heat power plants (HPPs) - 1.16 billion kWh, wind power plants (WPPs) - 54 million kWh, solar power plants (SPPs) - 37.5 million kWh, and the solid waste incineration plant - 129.7 million kWh of electricity in Azerbaijan, added the ministry.
