BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. The laying a new pipeline for the transportation of sour gas from the 16th phase of the Iran-Qatar joint South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar), to the 9th gas refinery of the South Pars Gas Company (SPGC), has been completed, Trend reports citing Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC).

According to information, the 32-inch pipeline was laid by the company's own specialists. The length of the pipeline is about 111 kilometers.

An additional 1 billion cubic feet (about 28.3 million cubic meters) of sour gas will be transported from the South Pars gas field through the mentioned pipeline.

The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
