BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. Large-scale exploration work will begin in the Abay region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made a corresponding proposal during a meeting with the public in the Abay region.
"The subsoil of the region hasn't been developed for many years due to the proximity to the landfill. Therefore, it's necessary to start large-scale geological surveys in the region. I think that there are deposits of various minerals here. The development of the mining industry will allow reviving of the economy of the region. In addition, it will provide an opportunity to open new jobs," Tokayev said.
