BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. Iran’s Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline is expected to be fully operational by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2023), Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

According to Owji, the length of the mentioned oil pipeline is about 1,000 kilometers and it passes through Iran's Fars, Bushehr and Hormozgan Provinces.

The minister added that due that a part of this pipeline has been put into operation in extraordinary conditions, a number of problems have arisen. At present, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) is seeking to eliminate the problems with the help of contractor companies.

The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline. Daily 1 million barrels of crude oil is expected to be transported through the pipeline after the fully operational.

As of May 2021, Iran has started transporting 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day through the 1st phase of Goureh-Jask oil pipeline.
