TEHRAN, Iran, October 6. Iran is trading electricity with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, said the Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Investment and distance are important factors in power export and import, he said adding that Iran has ongoing electricity trade with some of the member countries in the SCO.
He pointed out that the ministry would set its agenda to trading
electricity with countries that have short distances.
The official has previously indicated that trading electricity with
the SCO member states would increase Iran's power production.
