BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. The Montazer Ghaem Thermal Power Plant in Iran’s Alborz Province generated more than 8.1 million megawatt-hours of electricity during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), the head of the power plant Garshasb Jamshidnejad said, Trend reports citing Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s website.

“Of the mentioned volume, about 3.32 million megawatt-hours were generated by electric steam units, 3.37 million megawatt-hours - by gas units and 1.42 million megawatt-hours - by combined cycle units,” the official said.

Jamshidnejad added that the Montazer Ghaem TPP is the largest power plant in Alborz Province. The mentioned power plant generates more than 3 percent of the consumed electricity in the country. Currently, this TPP also supplies electricity to some parts of Alborz and Tehran provinces.

In general, the Montezer Ghaem TPP can generate more than 1,620 megawatt hours of electricity. The power plant has 4 steam units with a capacity to generate 156 megawatt-hours each, 6 gas units with a capacity to generate 116 megawatt-hours each, and 3 combined cycle units with a capacity to generate 100 megawatt-hours each.
