BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. A new diesel plant has been put into use at Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC), Executive Director of the EORC, Mohsen Ghaderi said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

The director noted that the mentioned plant produces diesel in accordance with Euro 5 standards.

Ghaderi added that the new plant can produce 23 million liters of diesel per day. The amount of sulfur in the diesel produced by the plant decreased from 10,000 PPM (parts per million) to 10 PPM. This means the amount of sulfur in daily diesel production has decreased by 300 tons.

“In total, 67.8 trillion rials (about $1.61 billion) and 511 million euro has been spent on the construction and launch of this plant. The annual income of the plant is estimated to be worth $263 million,” he said.

Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) was established in 1979. The company produces 12 million liters of gasoline per day following the Euro-5 standard, and 4 million liters of diesel in accordance with the Euro 4 and 5 standards. The company supplies about 23 percent of Iran's oil products.
