Iran eyes to commission new petrochemical plant

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 20. A new petrochemical plant owned by Iran's Padjam Petrochemical LLC, is estimated to be launched in the country within the next 18 months, Executive Director of Iran's Petropars Operation and Management Company (POMC), Amir Shahram Zaman said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to Zaman, the construction of the plant has already been completed. At present, the needed equipment is being installed.

The director added that the plant’s equipment is provided by Iran’s PetroPars Company, and the installation is expected to be completed till the mentioned period.

“About 200,000 tons of Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and about 60,000 tons of rubber products will be produced annually at the plant, which is located in Asaluyeh County of Bushehr Province (southern Iran). This will allow save a large amount of foreign currency that is spent on the purchase of these products every year,” he said.
