BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. In total, Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) produced 2.03 trillion cubic meters of natural gas from March 21, 2001 to October 23, 2022, Executive Director of the SPGC, Ahmad Bahush said at the meeting of the company’s offices on October 23, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to Bahush, the production of the mentioned volume of gas shows that the company has a high potential and is ready to meet main part of the country's gas demand.

The director added that the SPGC supplied more than 185 billion cubic meters of sweet gas to the country's gas network over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

“Within last Iranian year, more than 215 billion cubic meters of rich gas was transported to the South Pars Gas Company from the platforms of the South Pars gas field,” he said.

Iran’s South Pars Gas Company processes rich gas extracted from the South Pars gas field.

The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
