BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. The electricity generation of thermal power plants in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 12 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21,2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, CEO of Hormozgan Power Generation Company Reza Mehrani said, Trend reports citing Iran's Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s website.

According to Mehrani, the province’s thermal power plants generated 14.9 million megawatt-hours of electricity in 8 months.

The CEO added that the main thermal power plants generating electricity in the province were Bandar Abbas, Isin, Hengam, Pasargad and Hormoz TPPs.

“So, the Bandar Abbas TPP generated about 3.8 million megawatt-hours of electricity in 8 months, which is an increase of 3.2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

Mehrani also noted that the Isin TPP generated 2.6 million megawatt-hours of electricity within the mentioned period, which is an increase of 3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“At the same time, Hengam TPP generated 2.07 million megawatt-hours of electricity for eight months. This is an increase of 3.2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the official pointed out.

Meanwhile, the Pasargad TPP generated 285,000 megawatt-hours of electricity in 8 months, which is an increase of 26 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, Mehrani said.

As for the electricity generation of Hormoz TPP, the CEO stressed that the power plant also generated 285,000 megawatt-hours of electricity for the reporting period, which is an increase of 47 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
