BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan.31. Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Türkiye grew by 23.45 percent in November 2022, as compared to the same month in 2021, and stood at 749.97 million cubic meters, Trend reports with reference to Türkiye’s Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

The country came in second in terms of natural gas exports to Türkiye during the reporting period.

Iran was the largest exporter of natural gas to Türkiye in November 2022 with 857.13 million cubic meters, a 7.68 percent increase year-on-year, followed by Russia with 746.16 million cubic meters, or a 53.87 percent decrease year-on-year.

Türkiye’s overall gas imports dropped by 18.34 percent in November 2022 year-on-year and stood at 4.123 billion cubic meters, with 2.353 billion cubic meters accounting for pipeline imports and 1.769 billion cubic meters imported as liquefied natural gas.

Pipeline imports decreased by 22.10 percent, while LNG imports saw a 12.73 percent decrease.

Azerbaijan’s gas supplies to Europe stood at 11.4 billion cubic meters in 2022, according to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan exported 8.4 billion cubic meters to Türkiye and 2.5 billion cubic meters to Georgia in 2022.

A total of 46.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced in Azerbaijan in 2022. This indicator increased by 6.5 percent, or 2.9 billion cubic meters of gas, compared to 2021. Thus, a total of 13.4 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from the Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli field and 25.2 billion cubic meters from the Shah Deniz field. At the same time, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas.

A total of 22.3 billion cubic meters of the total volume of Azerbaijani gas produced in 2022, were exported, which is 18 percent more than in 2021.
