BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 5. Iran's Pars Oil and Gas Company and Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company signed a contract on the development of the 1st phase of the Kish gas field in the Persian Gulf in Iran’s Hormozgan Province, on February 4, 2023, Trend reports citing the National Iranian Oil Company’s website.

Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, Deputy Oil Minister and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Mohsen Khojasteh Mehr and other officials attended the event dedicated to the signing of the contract.

Under the mentioned contract, a 200 km long 32-inch pipeline will be built from Kish Island to Asaluyeh County of Bushehr Province by Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company, and 14 wells will be drilled in Kish field by National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC).

It is planned to complete the work on Kish gas field within 14 months. Then, 28 million cubic meters of gas and 11,000 barrels of gas condensate will be extracted daily from the field and transported to refieries in Asaluyeh County.

A total of $900 million is expected to be spent under the contract.

After the Kish gas field is fully developed, it will be possible to produce 120 million cubic meters of gas per day.

Iran's Kish gas field contains 55.5 trillion cubic feet (about 1.57 billion cubic meters) of gas and 514 million barrels of gas condensate. The field can produce 38.3 trillion cubic feet (about 1.08 billion cubic meters) of gas.

According to the plan for the development of this field, the 1st phase will produce 1 billion cubic feet (about 28.3 million cubic meters) of gas per day.
