Rystad Energy, a Norway-based independent consulting company, which GECF refers to, estimates that the world gas output has dropped by 0.4 percent standing at 4032 bcm in 2022, as CIS and Africa saw a decline in production last year. Lower demand stemming from high prices, as well as the overall geopolitical tensions led to a decrease in gas production. Global gas production in 2023 is set to grow as compared to 2022 as a result of the higher output in North America, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
