BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. Iran’s Tarasht Thermal Power Plant in Tehran Province (northern Iran) generated approximately 6,260 megawatt-hours of electricity in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP Yahya Nobakht said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

The official emphasized that the mentioned volume of electricity was generated by the power plant’s gas unit alone.

Nobakht added that the efficiency of the thermal power plant for the 11th month was 30.2 percent.

“Currently, overhauls are being carried out at Tarasht TPP. So, the operation of 1st and 2nd steam units of the station has been stopped for several months,” he said.

Meanwhile, the activity of remaining power units was suspended for the 11th month in order to carry out certain repairs, Nobakht also noted.

Iran's Tarasht Thermal Power Plant has a total of 4 steam units with an overall capacity to generate 60 megawatt-hours of electricity and one gas unit with a capacity to generate 25 megawatt-hours of electricity. The power plant has been operating for more than 60 years.
