BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. Iran's sale of petrochemical products amounted to 39 million tons worth a total of $26 billion, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), CEO of National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Morteza Shah-Mirzaei said at a press conference in Tehran on April 9, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

The CEO noted that 12 million tons of petrochemical products worth $10 billion were sold within the country in the last Iranian year.

“Also, 27 million tons of petrochemical products worth $16 billion were exported from Iran during the reporting period,” he added.

Shah-Mirzaei emphasized that a total of 65 million tons of petrochemical products were produced in the country last year.

“Meanwhile, Iran plans to produce 80 million tons of petrochemical products for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024),” the official said.

Currently, Iran's annual petrochemical production capacity is 90 million tons. About 35.7 million tons of petrochemical products worth $23 billion were sold within the country and exported in the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
