BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. Turkmenistan and Pakistan to discuss progress on promotion of international Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, Trend reports.
According to official data, this was stated by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) of Pakistan Musadik Masood Malik during a meeting with the Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Islamabad Atadjan Movlamov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topics of mutual interest within the framework of the arrival of the official delegation of Turkmenistan in the capital of Pakistan Islamabad on June 7, 2023.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Islamabad Atajan Movlamov met with the Federal Minister of Energy of Pakistan Khurram Dastgir Khan at the end of January this year.
They discussed the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline projects and the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line.
It is expected that the TAPI gas pipeline will annually transport 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas along an 1800-kilometer route from the Turkmen Galkynysh, the second largest gas field in the world, to the Indian city of Fazilka, located near the border of India with Pakistan.
