BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. Iran's Marun Oil and Gas Production Company has increased its daily flare gas collection capacity by 5 million cubic feet (about 142,000 cubic meters) since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023), CEO of the company Ghobad Nasseri said, Trend reports.
According to him, the pipeline of well No. 215 in the Marun oil field is connected with the pipeline of well No. 17. As a result, the flare gas burned before the mentioned date has started to be collected and the collected gas is currently being sent to the relevant companies for processing.
“The Marun Oil and Gas Production Company is currently collecting 12 million cubic feet (about 340,000 cubic meters) of flare gas daily,” Nasseri added.
The CEO also pointed out that 16,525 barrels of crude oil were produced from the oil fields of Marun Oil and Gas Production Company by using MOT (Mobile Oil Treater) and MOS (Mobile Oil Separator) equipment during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023).
The Marun Oil and Gas Production Company, which operates under the auspices of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), extracts oil from 404 oil wells. The company's daily oil extraction is 562,000 barrels.
About 360,000 barrels of it are transported to the Esfahan Oil Refining Company, and the rest (202,000 barrels) to Kharg Island.
The company also extracts 570 million cubic feet (about 16.1 million cubic meters) of gas, 25,000 barrels of liquefied gas, and 7,000 barrels of gas condensate per day.
