Iran, Uzbekistan prep roadmap for co-op in oil, gas and petrochemical industries

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. A roadmap for cooperation in oil, gas and petrochemical industries between Iran and Uzbekistan has been prepared, Trend reports.

In order to implement the provisions of the agreement between Iran's Oil Minister Javad Owji and Uzbekistan's Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov dated September 14, 2022, the meeting of two countries’ representatives leading by Iran's Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs and Trade Ahmad Asadzade and Uzbekistan's First Deputy Energy Minister Sherzod Khodjaev took place in Tehran.

During the meeting, the cooperation of the two countries in the fields of oil, gas, refining and petrochemicals, as well as the development of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries were discussed and a number of agreements were reached.

Also, a joint working committee on oil, gas and petrochemical sectors was established to focus on the agreements reached by the Iranian Oil Ministry and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

On June 18, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his accompanying delegation visited Tehran. During the visit, 10 cooperation documents and 1 joint statement were signed between the two countries.
