BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Azerbaijan has significant potential in the field of green energy, especially wind energy and environmentally friendly hydrogen, Head of the Foreign Relations Department at the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Ali Shahbazov said during the international "Visegrád Group Countries and Azerbaijan" workshop, Trend reports.
"We have huge prospects and can make some proposals in the field of renewable energy," Shahbazov noted, adding that Azerbaijan is also striving to reduce methane emissions into the atmosphere.
He pointed out that Azerbaijan is an important supplier of gas to Europe.
"Azerbaijan and the Visegrád Group countries successfully cooperate in the field of oil supplies, which has been going on for a long time, and we intend to continue to develop this area of partnership," Shahbazov concluded.
The workshop is devoted to the problems related to the energy crisis against the background of the Russia-Ukraine war and ways to solve them. The event will also discuss the challenges posed by the future technological transformation for the Visegrád Group countries and Azerbaijan.
The workshop is attended by experts and officials from Azerbaijan, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, as representatives of the diplomatic corps.
