BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has zeroed the emissions of associated gas in 2022.
“SOCAR reached a zero associated gas emission target in the Upstream sector in September 2022 for the first time in the region by optimization of operations, increasing efficiency and applying new technological solutions,” an informed source told Trend.

SOCAR reduced greenhouse gas emissions to 2 percent in 2021. The World Bank also predicted that the company’s emissions will drop to zero by 2022.
