ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 29. Turkmenistan has sold a large batch of fuel oil to entrepreneurs from Malta, British Virgin Islands and UAE on its commodity exchange, Trend reports.

Turkmenistan sold 100,000 tons of fuel oil to businessmen from Malta, British Virgin Islands and UAE. The total amount of the transaction was $40.3 million.

The entire volume of fuel oil sold to businessmen was produced at the enterprises of the Turkmenistan's Turkmennebit State Concern.

At the same time, a company from Afghanistan purchased from Turkmenistan 500 tons of urea produced at the enterprises of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern in the amount of $124,000.

The production of fuel oil in Turkmenistan is a significant component of its oil and gas industry. The country has extensive oil and gas reserves, which makes this sector important and strategic for the economy of Turkmenistan.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was founded on July 29, 1994, and serves as the primary governmental entity responsible for regulating export-import operations.
