ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 13. Turkmenistan and China discussed the development of cooperation in the context of the implementation of projects in the oil and gas sector, Trend reports.

These issues were discussed during the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Vepa Hajiyev, with the Vice Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Deng Boqing.

During the meeting, the sides noted the dynamic development of Turkmen-Chinese relations as a comprehensive strategic partnership in many areas.

They noted cooperation within the framework of international organizations as well as active cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian fields, including in the fields of education, health, and cultural exchanges.

At the same time, the sides exchanged views on the further development of cooperation in the fields of education and healthcare.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan ranks first in the supply of pipeline natural gas to China.

The gas is supplied via three gas pipelines that pass through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan before reaching China. The total capacity of these pipelines is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
