BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. The STAR oil refinery, which is under the ownership of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, achieved a notable increase in diesel fuel production, Trend reports.
In July 2023, the refinery produced 538,079 tons of diesel fuel. This marks a slight growth compared to the same month in 2022 when the production stood at 534,848 tons.
According to data from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), the year-on-year increase in diesel production at the refinery amounted to 0.6 percent. SOCAR Türkiye has ambitious plans to process more than 12 million tons of oil at the STAR refinery in 2023. This involves the utilization of crude oil sourced from countries in the Black Sea region, Africa, and several other nations for the production of petrochemical products.
STAR refinery commenced operations in October 2018, boasting an annual refining capacity of approximately 10 million tons. The facility has the capability to process 214 thousand barrels of crude oil each day.
