ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 28. Turkmenistan's Turkmennebit State Concern extracted more than 361 million cubic meters of associated petroleum gas from the Goturdepe field from January through October this year, Trend reports.
During this period, the volume of associated petroleum gas produced at the field is 6 percent higher than during the first 10 months of last year.
Goturdepe, a field rich in oil and gas resources, located near Turkmenistan's city of Balkanabad, is considered one of the "oldest" in Turkmenistan; the first drilling rig appeared here in 1948.
Industrial development of local deposits began in the 1960s, and 13 years ago the Northern Goturdepe field was discovered, whose reserves are estimated at 20 million tons of oil.
According to the results of this year, gas production in Turkmenistan is expected to exceed 80 billion cubic meters, of which about 73 billion cubic meters will be accounted for by Turkmengaz, and exports are projected to amount to about 40 billion cubic meters, of which about 35 billion cubic meters will be supplied by the state concern.
