BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. The National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) produces 2,558,000 barrels of crude oil per day from its oil fields, said Ramin Roghanian, the head of technical issues of the company, Trend reports.

The official noted that the company has seen an increase in crude oil production at the upper level since the current government took office in August 2021. The main reason for the increase was the repair of oil wells.

He also stated that the NISOC expects to further increase its crude oil production by the end of the year (March 19, 2024).

Roghanian added that the company is pursuing the goal of increasing production by using its local resources, despite the sanctions and restrictions imposed by the US and western countries on Iran.

The National Iranian South Oil Company, a subordinate of the National Iranian Oil Company, operates 45 large and small hydrocarbon deposits in an area of 400,000 square kilometers from Iran's Bushehr Province to the north of Khuzestan Province.

The company extracts about 80 percent of Iran's crude oil and 16 percent of its gas.
