BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 16. Greece received from Azerbaijan over 1.1 billion cubic meters of gas in 2023 according to customs declarations of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC), up by 43.4 percent from 2022, Trend reports.
Based on the SCC data, Azerbaijan's earnings from gas sales to
Greece along the Southern Gas Corridor last year was $900.28
million, a 21.2 percent decrease from 2022.
Revenue decreased when gas prices fell in the European market.
The SCC collects export statistics based on declarations. The
declaration in respect of gas supplied to the buyer is submitted
following a commercial transaction rather than technical pumping of
gas, so the committee indicators deviate slightly from other
statistical data.
According to comparable SCC projections based on customs filings,
Azerbaijan sold more over 13 billion cubic meters of gas to the EU
in 2023.
