ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 28. Azerbaijan procured 551,680 tons of crude oil from Turkmenistan for the entire year 2023, Trend reports.
According to data from Azerbaijan's State Statistical Committee, crude oil imports from Turkmenistan are 56.4 percent higher than in 2022 (352,715 tons).
In terms of value, Azerbaijan's crude oil purchases from Turkmenistan during the previous year totaled $317.54 million, a 29.5 percent rise over the same period in 2022, when it stood at $245.14 million.
Furthermore, in 2023, Azerbaijan bought more than 1.91 million tons of crude oil from overseas, totaling $1.07 billion.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan for the whole of 2023 reached $773.9 million, which is 44.5 percent more than the prior year's $535.39 million for the same period.
